Atmo Zakes started her formal education as an artist with a three-year professional visual arts/photography program at Cegep Vieux Montreal (1970-73). Her first solo exhibition of aquarelles and pencil drawings was in Trausse, France in 1995, and another at John Abbott College in 2001.
She is doing commissioned work including architectural paintings of public spaces, animal and house portraits. Atmo’s work has been represented in art association shows and galleries and last summer 50 of her works were on display in three Ste. Anne de Bellevue locations, giving visibility to her growing body of work in watercolours (both on paper and canvas), dry pastel, acrylics and oil; with mixed media experiments including image transfers, oriental technique and collages. |
